SSC CHSL 2024 Age relaxation
Applicants should be between 18 years and 27 years for Applying SSC CHSL 2024 (Age as count on 01/08/2024), However there are some relaxation on the basis of categories:
- Age limit for Central Government Employees is set to 40 years even for SC/ST
- Age relaxation for Defence Personnel (Injured at work) is set to 3 years and for SC/ST its 8 years.
- Age relaxation for OBC is 3 years.
- Age relaxation for Ex Servicemen is 3 years.
- Age relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years.
- Age relaxation for PWD (Unreserved is 10 years, OBC is 13 years and SC/ST is 15 years).
- Widow/divorced women/ Judicially Separated (Not Remarried) is 35 years and for SC/ST is 40 years.
SSC CHSL Selection Process 2024
As mentioned above, the selection process is divided into two tiers:
- Tier-1 Computer Based Test (Pre)
- Tier-2 Computer Based Test with Typing/Skill test(Mains)
CHSL Tier 1 Exam Pattern
The Tier 1 examination will be of 60 minutes and the full marks would be 200 for 100 questions, the questions will be distributed as follows:

Like the first tier it would be also be computer based test. It would be in 2 sessions: Session 1 of 2hr and 15mins and Session 2 of 25 mins. Hence the exam will be in total of 2hr 40 mins. The pattern would be as follows:

In case of Session 1, Tier 2 examination the duration would be as follows:
- Section 1: 60 minutes

- Section 3: Part A and B: 15 minutes
- Section 3: Part C: 10 minutes

How much Negative marking in SSC CHSL 2024?
As it is a Computer Based test, there is some negative marking on the wrong questions for both of the tiers. Negative marking can vary from 0.5 Marks to 1 mark depending on the tier.
- For Tier 1 there is negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer where 2 marks are awarded for each right answer.
- For Tier 2 there is negative marking of 1 mark if the answer is marked wrong where 3 marks are awarded for each right answer.
